:redorb: in AoD you will find a setting that is mixture of combat and social encounters.
Combat and Danger is around most corners and each district has a Danger lvl marked by Stars 1-5 to skulls 
(Example:  star full star full Star half Star empty Star empty)
In districts with a high lvls of stars, expect danger and combat through random encounters. Take this into consideration when building your character.

CHARACTER CONCEPT
Exclamation OK 1st and for most START with a CHARACTER CONCEPT .
Don't think of your clan, forget your powers / disciplines, disregard merits...Think of ''who'' your character is...
The most important aspect of character creation is to consider ''WHO'' your character is rather than 'what' they are or what powers they have.
Without a clear idea of ''who'' you are playing, you will find it very hard to play the character in the 1st place.
Ask yourself...
:blackorb: "Who was your character in life?"
:grayorb: "What are his dreams or goals? And did the embrace change them?
:blackorb: "How has your character reacted to his/her embrace?"
:grayorb: "Did the embrace cause them to leave anything of their old life behind?''
:grayorb: "what was his occupation?"
:blackorb: "How have they been living their life up until the embrace?''
:grayorb: "Where did he live?''
:blackorb: "Why is he coming to the City?''
The ST's will ask you about this even before we consider the character you wish to portray for approval.

CHOOSING A CLAN

All clans have benefit and drawbacks. Before choosing a clan we suggest that you read about the clans on the reference desk.
